GRASSROOTS football clubs campaigning in the Safa Mangaung SAB Regional League will begin their run in the challenge for this year’s Nedbank Cup.

The teams will be in action on 10 and 11 September, battling it out at the University of the Free State’s (UFS) sports grounds and Glen College.

They will compete on a knockout basis to determine the winner of the third-tier division of the Mangaung Metro.

In total, 16 clubs in the Mangaung Metro’s regions of Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu are expected to be in action.

The winner will thereafter compete for a place in the Free State qualifier leg.

The provincial leg will feature the winner of the ABC Motsepe League and the SAB Regional League, with the winner thereof going through to the last-32 leg of the Nedbank Cup, to feature the Premiership (PSL) and National First Division (NFD) teams.
