A one-day women’s football tournament – the Battle of the Titans – featuring four clubs, will battle for glory and the prize at Thaba Nchu’s Mmabana Stadium on Saturday (27/01).

The participating clubs are two from Lesotho, namely the Lesotho Defence Force and Stoko FC. Local teams are Kodisang FC and Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies, current two-time national Sasol Women’s League champions.

Two celebrity sides, Bloemfontein supporters and Kodisang Masters, have been featured as part of promoting women’s football.

The main prize at stake is R3 000 that the winning team is guaranteed to take home, plus a trophy and a gold medal. The runner up will receive a silver medal, while the third achiever will take home a bronze medal.

The four teams will compete on a knockout basis to decide the two finalists.

The match between Kodisang Ladies and Lesotho Defence Force starts at 09:00 and the game between Celtic Ladies and Stoko at 11:00.

This is the first edition of this international tournament promoting women’s football.
