Deadline extended for learner applications

2017-08-23 06:01

The Free State Department of Education has extended the closing date for the registration and admission of learners for 2018 to 31 August. The closing date was initially 31 July.

Adv. Tsoarelo Malakoane, superintendent of the department, says the extension of the closing date gives parents who missed the deadline another chance to apply for admission and have their children’s names placed on admission list A.

Applicants who missed the new deadline would be considered late and be placed on admission waiting list B. Application on the admission waiting list B will be considered later.

Parents will be informed of the outcome of their applications for admission and the confirmation of acceptance thereof within seven days or, at the latest, on 15 September.

Parents who want to appeal if their application for admission are rejected without solid reason, are advised to contact the district admission committee.
