BETHLEHEM. – The Bethlehem Town Hall was a hive of activity on Saturday (21/11) when a large number of young girls descended on the Miss Dihlabeng Beauty Pageant auditions.

Miss Dihlabeng will be crowned on Saturday, 19 December, at the same venue.

Throughout this week the task team has been kept busy by visiting other municipal units in Dihlabeng, namely Clarens, Paul Roux, Rosendal and Fouriesburg.

“We are thrilled with the turn-out and the support received from the Dihlabeng community.

“It can only mean that they feel part of the project and want to see it succeed,” Shadrack Maboea, the sponsorship and marketing official of the event, says.

He says the auditions team has been hard at work and will announce their final results before the end of the week.

“Once this is finalised, we will be entering the last phase of the project,” Maboea says.

He says there is still time for the business people to make a contribution to this prestigious occasion.

The prizes consist mainly of scholarship vouchers. Maboea says this is an indication that education is the most important tool in life.

He believes that contributing to the betterment of someone’s future should give one a warm feeling from the heart.

The Miss Dihlabeng Beauty Pageant is a project supported by the Office of the Executive Mayor of Dihlabeng, Department of Community Services, Youth Development Office and the Youth Club.
