The woman linked to a fatal hit and run accident in which Ndleleni Donvulo was killed, faces charges of culpable homicide and failure to report an accident within 24 hours. Novelake Lisbet Smith (32) is the prime suspect in the fatal accident which occurred outside a popular pub in Pitso Street, Bochabela, near Bloemfontein on Sunday, 27 October. Smith is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court again tomorrow (21/11) for a bail application. Her application for bail was postponed after her brief appearance last Monday (11/11). Smith firstly appeared in court on 4 November. Brig. Motantsi Makhele, provincial police spokesperson, said after evading arrest for a week, Smith handed herself over at the Mangaung police station in Bloemfontein on 4 November. Smith had been remanded in custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the hit and run which killed Donvulo. It is believed that the woman was among the patrons at the popular pub on the day of the fateful incident. She allegedly fled from the scene of the accident.
