The Kimberley born and bred model Norman Seleka (23) is looking forward to reaching another milestone in his modelling career in a few months’ time.

He hopes to jet off to the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (Arts) for 2018, scheduled to be held in Orlando, Florida, in the USA from 23 to 29 July.

Seleka, a former learner of the Kimberley Boys’ High School, is a Human Movement Science graduate of the University of the Free State (UFS) who is still unemployed.

He believes it is now the time to pursue his modelling career, which he has put on hold to complete his university degree.

“I have always loved modelling and considered my body, as I am a physique guy and passionate about fashion,” Seleka explained.

He said his big break came in 2017 when he auditioned for the Summer Heat campaign at the Flamingo Casino.

“There I was scouted by international scouts Sam Williams and Lenus Pretorius for the International Arts Talent Show that was hosted in Krugersdorp in October 2017.

“I emerged in the fourth position in the modelling category.”

He promises to show the world the talent that comes from the Northern Cape and also to become an ambassador for this province in front of international agents.

Seleka aims to raise enough money to make his participation in the USA possible.

He has already paid R6 980 of the required R75 980.

The outstanding amount is for flights, accommodation and spending money.

“I am so passionate about what I do and I pull out all the stops, including working day and night, to reach this dream of mine.”

Seleka is willing to take on opportunities in acting and commercials.

He is represented by Elsubie Verlinden of Just You Model Artist and Management.
