MULTI-TALENTED Ellandri van Heerden (8) has been chosen as the deserving winner of the monthly SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for March for Express Mangaung. She was chosen for her outstanding performance in golf, gymnastics, swimming and tennis.

The Eunice Primary School learner’s performance in competitions saw her being rewarded with exciting prizes. At the recent Eunice Primary School Inter-house Gala, Ellandri obtained second place for a medley team relay and a silver medal for a freestyle team relay. She swims for the Otters Club in Bloemfontein and boasts Free State colours in gymnastics. She is also a member of the Eunice Primary Tennis and Schoeman Park Golf Academy.

Ellandri boasts significant achievements in golf. She obtained third place in both the Schoeman Park Junior Open and Bloemfontein Golf Club Junior Open girls’ division. The budding star golfer’s sterling performance in the recent South African Kids Team Challenge saw her climbing up two notches in the rankings to the 38th spot. She was ranked 40th on the first day and was the only girl on the field. Ellandri’s praiseworthy performance has also led to her being included in the Free State u.11-team to compete in various provincial tournaments. Ellandri is driven by her motto: It’s a long road, but it is worth it.
