Entries awaited for art competition

2016-06-01 06:00

ARTISTS are encouraged to enter the Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition in which prizes worth R100 000 can be won. The competition is open to all South African artists in the Free State that are 18 years or older and have not held a solo exhibition at a commercial gallery involving more than 20 works. Aimed at discovering new and emerging Free State-based artists, the competition also provides broad corporate and public exposure to showcase contemporary art from the Free State. Entries are to be submitted at Oliewenhuis from 5 to 11 September and this will be followed by first-round shortlisting and judging thereof in October. The prize-giving is scheduled for 17 November in Bloemfontein.
