Everyone can strive to achieve greatness

THE unemployment rate in South Africa is currently hovering at 26,6%, with youth who are idling, waiting for that one person or opportunity that will somehow save them.

What many people fail to realise is that God created each and every one of us with a brain, skills and talent that can be utilised to transform our own lives, create our own source of income and be a blessing to the world at the same time.

Just because you do not have talents that are as obvious or world-renowned as others, such as those of 400 m Olympic champion Wayde van Niekerk, DJ Black Coffee (Nkosinathi Maphumulo) or even Oprah Winfrey, does not mean that you were not created for a purpose and for greatness.

Talent includes things such as being a good baker, reading upside down, acting, listening, arm-wrestling, or whatever else comes to you naturally.

God blessed each of us with that special x-factor. However, we have become so used to looking outside of ourselves for solutions to our problems that we fail to see that we can be our own solution. We have been brainwashed for centuries to believe that we cannot make something good of ourselves.

A thorough and objective look at our journey of life – the renewing of our minds to knock down our mental limitations – will reveal that we can have awesome lives.

I mean lives that are in alignment with the purpose for which we are created, lives that illustrate our innate greatness and our ability to be a blessing to the world.

Dr Myles Munroe said: “The wealthiest place in the world is not the diamond mines of South Africa or the banks of the world. The wealthiest place on the planet is just down the road. It is the cemetery. There lie buried companies that were never started, inventions that were never made, bestselling books that were never written and masterpieces that were never painted. In the cemetery is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential.”

A quote by Marianne Williamson: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.”

You, playing small, does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you.

We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Do something good to see greatness in you.
