Fights set to enthrall

Boxing fanatics in the greater Qwaqwa region are in for a real treat with the staging of a one-day professional tournament on Saturday (01/07).

It is a first for the town and is made possible by the Dream Team manned by Lebohang Mahoko.

The tournament is set to take place in the Phuthaditjhaba Community Hall.

Altogether 16 fighters, some of whom are from South Africa and some from other African countries, will compete.

They are set to fight in different divisions of four, six and ten rounds.

The main bout will feature France Ramabolu and Stanis Apanu from Ghana, who will fight ten rounds.

In the lead-up, Yomi Shokumbi will take on Lewis Bukasa and Justice Siliga will battle it out with Kizito Ruhamya for six rounds.

The four-round fights will feature Mpho Manyakalle taking on Saul Hlonwane, Serge Kongolo against Eric Kapia Mulumba (junior middle weight), Kagiso Moroane against Gift Pilane (featherweight) and Tshepo Mzikide facing against with Joseph Ramasedi (bantam weight).

In the women’s fight, Sandisiwe Gxogxo will face Melissa Miller.
