FISTON ABDOUL RAZAK has expressed his joy at scoring his first goal for Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Burundian international, who joined the club on a loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns during the January transfer period, made his second appearance for the Mangaung side in Wednesday’s (03/02) one-all draw against Supersport United – and he scored the opening goal for the match.

“I had to wait for this moment and now we have to keep working to strengthen our team,” said Razak, who made his Celtic debut against Bidvest Wits on 31 January.

“I’m very happy to have scored my first goal in Celtic colours, but I’m sad we didn’t win the match. We had a good game, so we have to keep going and prepare for the next encounter.

“As a striker my job is to score goals. I believe more goals are still to come. What I need to do is to work hard and try to score in every match. But I am not going to be selfish. If my fellow teammate is in a better scoring position I’ll pass the ball to him,” he added.

The 24-year-old said he was delighted with his start to life at Siwelele Park following his move from The Brazilians.

“It’s been a great experience for me getting game time. I’ve learned a lot already and I’m looking to keep on working hard to help the club move up the table,” said Razak.

Coach Serame Letsoaka has nothing but praise for his new acquisition.

“He is a very good player and we are expecting lots of goals from him,” said Letsoaka, who registered his first win as Celtic coach when his side defeated Wits by 2-1 recently.

“I think fans will see the best of him soon. I am happy he had scored for us. I think that goal will give him the confidence and self-believe that he can do the job for us,” said the coach.

Meanwhile, Celtic welcomes Chippa United to the Dr Rantlai Molemela Stadium for their Valentine’s Day clash on Sunday (14/02) at 15:30.

United comes into this league encounter on the back of a 2-1 victory over Jomo Cosmos, while Celtic will look to make up for their disappointing goalless draw with Mpumalanga Black Aces.
