Dreams sometimes do not come true.

God’s plans are not our plans and His wisdom is not ours. Sometimes we plan, but in the end it is God who decides.

At a point in your life when things are going well, you hope and think that they will continue like that.

In the township they say those who are on top will come down and those who were down will go to the top because life is a wheel.

I sometimes look at my life and think, I never thought I would be here and in these circumstances. Sometimes you dream that when I am 50 years old, I would have reached this or that in my life.

When you notice you have not reached your goals, you notice that the year is flying.

But if you are reaching your goals, you do not have the same experience. The years will fly by quickly if there are still unfinished business.

My sister-in-law was nearing retirement but still wanted to learn to drive and to buy a car. The more time was passing, the more she wanted to hold the tail of time so that it could pass slowly.

I wanted to study further but I realised that my priorities have changed. I am now happy to be the granny and drive my grandchildren around. Although I have the the capability and the university is providing a full bursary, I no longer have the hunger to study.

I calculated the cost or the sacrifices I would have to make, and the price was too high to pay. I was worried that when I had finished studying in the next five years or so, my grandchildren would have grown up and I would have missed being part of that growing up.

Maybe you thought by now, like my sister-in-law, you would have bought a car, or a house or you would have money to go on international trips.

Maybe you lost your work before you were ready to retire, or there were other dreams that you still wanted to reach.

I think our destiny is predetermined. Things happen because they have to happen.

You never pictured yourself alone after divorce or the death of a spouse. You never imagined that you will be this old and unemployed or without the house or car of your dreams.

My advice is do not worry.

Sometimes we calculate our success by the material things we have accumulated. Look at the bright side; look at the other positives in your life.

I may not have the higher degree I wanted but I have my grandchildren in my life who brings me so much joy. God does not make mistakes.
