QWAQWA. – Karabo Mafuta (16), a Children of the Dawn beneficiary, has been offered a lifetime opportunity to travel to France from Monday (04/07) to Friday, 15 July.

Mafuta will be representing South Africa during a clinic for frontball players.

She will be accompanied by the organisation’s care giver and coach, Sbongile Mdiya.

According to Mdiya, frontball is a new sport similar to tennis, but hands are used to play.

“It is similar to tennis, but the difference is that we use bare hands to hit the ball and opponents face the same direction, as the ball is hit against a wall.

“We held a tournament during the Easter holiday and selected the right candidate to represent us in France.

“Karabo got a first position in her category,” Mdiya said.

The enthusiastic Mafuta thanked her family and friends for their support.

“There are even people who believe in me and support me, even though they know little about the sport.

“I want to thank my coaches for being patient with me.

“I will never disappoint them,” said Mafuta.
