American songstress Chante Moore is set to wow audience attending the Divas Concert of this year’s Mangaung African Cultural Festival (Macufe). The Grammy-nominated American singer, songwriter, actress and television personality is the latest edition to this indoor show featuring exclusively female artists.

Moore will be making her first appearance at this extravaganza event. She rose to fame in the late 1990s and established herself as an R&B artist. The songbird is also pencilled to perform at the outdoor main jazz festival on 7 October at the Rose Garden.

Also billed to perform at this exclusive songstress occasion on 6 October are South Africans Amanda Black, Thandiswa Mazwai and Bloemfontein’s pride Nonkosi Sokoyi as well as Angelique Kidjo from Benin. The Grammy Award-winning Beninese singer and songwriter will be making her second appearance having first stars in the 2008 edition.

Born in Botshabelo, Nonkosi, known by the stage name Miss Noxy is the only local artist in the line-up featuring established stars.

The Divas Concert will be staged at The Dome, Old Grey Sports Ground from 18:30 till 00h00. Entrance fee is R240.

The Macufe show will get underway on 29 September with Tshepe, a Sotho hip-hop event, taking place at The Dome on the Old Grey’s sports grounds in Bloemfontein. Performances at this occasion will mostly feature acts from the Free State. These include Frog, Castino, Thwenny, Mc Fire, Tumi Tladi, Kot Inferno, Malumkoolkat, Gemini Major, Nasty C, as well as DJ Speedsta and DJ Shaxe.
