Give Super Eagles a chance

JACK MOKOENA, Bohlokong, Bethlehem:

LET me share my thoughts with regards to Free State Stars’ status purchase by Moroka Swallows FC.

It will be a sad thing to see our municipality, hawkers and community at large, losing income in one way or another.

Though we have not received an official statement from the Free State Stars FC, the writing is on the wall.

There are rumours that Free State Stars will buy Mthatha Bush Bucks. I do think it is high time that our Bethlehem businessmen and -women, particularly those with a passion for football, work together towards getting a Bethlehem-based team into the NFD and PSL later.

The only hope for Bethlehem dwellers is Super Eagles FC which has shown great potential in the past three seasons. Super Eagles need assistance and with it they can do more.

A consortium that buys Free State Stars could be a lesson to the Bethlehem community.

Local people need to work together to make sure Super Eagles, which is the only local team competing in the ABC Motsepe League, gain promotion.

I make a humble plea for investment in Super Eagles FC. I am certain that the municipality could also play a key role in this respect.

Should Free State Stars be sold to Morokwa Swallows, Super Eagles could be given a chance to use the Goble Park Stadium.

Even if Free State Stars buys Mthahta Bush Bucks, they can share the use of the Goble Park Stadium.
