Young gymnast Caitlen van Heerden (7) has been named Express’s Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for April due to her sporting achievements.

She was chosen for her exceptional performances in swimming, golf, chess and gymnastics.

The energetic rising star is a Gr. 1 learner at Eunice Primary School in Bloemfontein.

Caitlen performed at the Gymnastics Grand Prix competition held in Bloemfontein recently.

She took part in the trampoline and mini trampoline events. She also boasts to her credit Free State colours in gymnastics.

Caitlen plays for the Schoeman Park Golf Academy. She won this year’s u.11B girls’ division of the Clarens Junior Open and the Schoeman Park Junior Open.

Caitlen finished in third place at the Quintin Williams Junior Holiday Clinic.

Apart from sport, she also loves playing piano and is a piano student at the Eezet Fourie Art School.

Caitlen’s motto is: ”Work hard, practice until you get it right.”

More on Let’s Play

SuperSport over time has evolved as the quintessential sports authority. With such strong sporting influence within the South African market, SuperSport has been perfectly poised to harness this power and rally the public and corporates to truly make a difference in society.

SuperSport identified that there were huge issues severely inhibiting the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport – all of which are imperative to the holistic development of young people.

It was from this insight that Let’s Play was born in November 2005 with the aim of elevating awareness of our social situation and to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport in schools.
