An 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Delportshoop on Saturday, 24 February.

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Galeshewe needs the public’s assistance in solving the case.

According to the police, the incident happened at about 03:00 when the victim alleged that she was walking alone in 7de Laan Location, Delportshoop, on her way to her friend’s place.

The suspect further alleged that she was approached by two unknown men.

Both were dressed in black jeans and black hooded tracksuit tops.

Sgt Majang Skalkie, police spokesperson, said both men had apparently covered their heads with the hoodies, and their faces with scarves.

“One of the suspects grabbed the victim from behind and robbed her of her cellphone. The other suspect threatened her with a knife. Both allegedly raped her,” Skalkie said.

One of the male suspects is estimated to be aged 30 to 35 years old, is slender-build and dark in complexion.

Two men, who are believed to be able to assist the police in solving the rape and robbery case, are sought by the police.

An appeal is made to anyone who may have information about the incident, or may know the whereabouts of these men, to call Const. Rosy Motsepo of the Galeshewe FCS Unit on 079-151-1239 or the Crime Stop Line on
08600-1011.
