Hold Sassa card tightly

2017-06-14 06:01

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) says the expiry date of December 2017 on Sassa cards will not affect social grant payments.

Tshediso Mahlaku, Sassa’s spokesperson, said they were in a planning phase regarding the future payment of social grants once the contract with Cash Paymaster Services ends in March 2018.

“As soon as final plans are in place, beneficiaries will be informed. Social grant recipients are warned not to listen to anyone to change their cards.

“The Sassa card bearing the colours of the South African flag remains the official card.

“Beneficiaries must be aware of hoax information being circulated, which requires them to disclose their personal and card details,” said Mahlaku.
