Hospital to pave the way in NC

2017-05-31 06:03

Lenmed’s 11th addition to its group of private hospitals is on track to open to the community of Kimberley and surrounding areas in July.

The group looks forward to extending its brand of patient-focused health care to Kimberley and the province as a whole.

This follows the auspicious event on its premises just over two years ago, when the group was joined by David Molusi, mayor of the Sol Plaatje Local Municipality at the time, who did the honours of officially breaking ground for the building of the new hospital.

This hospital will feature the first fully-focused cardiology centre and oncology department in the Northern Cape, as well as a full array of multidisciplinary specialists.

The cardiology centre will provide modern interventional cardiac treatment options, including advanced open-heart surgery facilities.

The oncology unit will offer progressive treatments, including the latest radiotherapy.

According to Lenmed, the hospital will provide general care to the public with its full array of medical specialists, admitting patients to maternity, paediatric, medical, surgical, intensive care and neonatal intensive care units.

The facility will also offer procedures through a multitude of theatres, provide 24-hour emergency and out-patient care, as well as deliver supported outsourced services such as radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology and dialysis.

The group has over 33 years’ experience in managing and owning private health care facilities in Southern Africa.

Lenmed currently manages eight hospitals in South Africa, one in Mozambique and one in Botswana.
