Barcelona Masters Club was the toast of the day when they were crowned the 2018 champions of the Rihanna Moshoeshoe Annual Soccer tournament at the De Beers Stadium over the weekend.

They beat their opponents Juventus Masters Club 4-2 in penalties.

The proud winners had it tough after the opponents Juventus Masters Club equalised in the last 15 minutes, making it 1-1 to lead to the penalties.

Juventus qualified for the finals after giving their opponents Zulu Sweepers 7-1 lashing earlier in the day.

According to the proud coach Madena Segrys, this is a second run of their existence in the tournament finals as they lifted the same trophy in 2015/16.

He admits to this not being the easiest competition as all teams are tough.

“This was not an easy road ever since we started off at group stages until the finals.

“The crowning is more of a motivation to do better in the next season as this is my first major cup as a coach ever since I took over two years ago,” he said.

Segrys gave thanks to his technical team that put in good strategy measures in an effort to remain the winning team, that has not being out of the top six ever since they joined.

“This comes at a good time as we finish the league at a positive note.”

The tournament was wrapped up on a high note of excitement with a motorcade, carrying messages of support in the campaign against Human Trafficking, through the streets of Galeshewe leading to the stadia on Sunday(02/12), the day of the finals.
