Identity of victim sought

2017-08-16 06:01

The police in Bloemfontein are requesting members of the public who are missing a family member to contact the police as soon as possible.

This is after the police found an unknown man’s body alongside Memoriam Road in Uitsig, Bloemfontein.

WO Loraine Earle, spokesperson of the police, said the man was killed by a train on Sunday, 30 July, at about 02:30.

She said the police were struggling with clues to find the man’s identity as his body and clothes were beyond recognition after he had been struck by a train in the early hours of the morning.

“There was nothing to identify him by.

“We can only confirm that the person was indeed a male.

“The man did not have any identity document on him and the impact with the train left him beyond recognition,” said Earle.

Anyone who might know the identity of this black African man, is requested to contact the investigating officer, Det.WO Annamarie Vorster, on 082-468-1624.
