Ordinary women generally face challenges in terms of access to information.

It is for this reason that Women Empowerment Movement International (Wemi) hosted a workshop at the Club 2000 Community Hall to disseminate information on available opportunities on Tuesday, 31 October.

About 56 people attended the workshop which offered presentations by the Department of Economic Development, Mme Re Ka Thusa, the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) and the Office of Gender Equality.

The founder of Wemi, Past. Lilly Fritz, said the workshop was aimed at closing the gap of poverty and unemployment, as it directed the women to Wemi’s doors to seek more information.

She also mentioned that the movement was making an effort of incorporating disabled people.

Fritz said it was a good time to prepare women to start making plans to start the new year with.

According to plans, the next workshop will be held in Warrenton and those who are interested in attending the workshop are invited to call Fritz on 079-556-4617.
