Everyone in life has at some point made a bad choice. Some we notice instantly as “hey, I might have gone wrong here”.

For other bad choices it takes a prolong season to eventually realise that what one thought and believed to be good, really was not.

Experts say if you make a mistake twice, it is no longer a mistake.

But the truth is we can go for weeks, months and even years doing something without ever realising we might have made a bad choice.

It could be the career you have chosen, the company you may have decided to keep, the relationship you have decided to stay in or a lifestyle you have chosen to lead simply because for that period you were convinced that what you have found is good and that you have indeed made a good decision.

A bad choice does not necessarily mean that you have done wrong all together. Sometimes the career you may have chosen, was a good choice. But maybe it was just not for you. Or you have chosen a phenomenal person to be your partner, but the relationship turns out to be toxic.

Sometimes we make choices in life holding on to the belief that we are on the right path, only to look back and realise that you have only wasted time.

Life does not come with a manual and a person was not born with a GPS to make sure one gets to the desired destination without any hiccups.

Therefore, making a mistake is something inevitable and human beings are bound to err.

The bad choices you may have made, can be used as road signs and danger warnings about which way to go and which way not to go.

Even if you think that you got it wrong with a career, partner, place of fellowship, lifestyle or a company, you actually got it right.

Bad choices with its repercussions can teach you more about yourself than anything else.

Regret nothing in life. Never regret your past because it is the very reason you are hoping for a better future.

Never regret your mistakes because those mistakes have taught you valuable lessons for life.

The greatest thing about going through a storm is that you no longer fear the waves. How many situations have you gone through which you thought were going to kill you? And now you can look back and laugh?

Yes, you may have made bad choices in this lifetime, but there is no need to beat yourself up on things you cannot rectify and on things you can now use as a stepping stone to greater heights.
