It is all systems go for the 2018 Mr and Miss Kimberley Schools pageant to be held on Saturday (12/05).

The pageant, which has grown from strength to strength over the past four years, will be hosted at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre.

In an effort to accommodate and showcase more talent, the organiser of the event, Manaka Productions, in partnership with Express Northern Cape, has incorporated primary school contestants for the first time in four years.

This year’s theme is “Wild things”, and 44 models will be participating.

Contestants sweated it out at a boot camp from Friday (04/05) to Sunday (06/05) to prepare them for the event.

According to Samantha Oor from Manaka Productions, the event will portray the message that everything will fall into place if young people learn to ignore peer pressure and be themselves.

“We have managed to secure a bigger and more classy venue this year. as we realised the build-up potential for excitement. It will definitely contribute to a better pageant and a better show than we have ever held,” Oor said.

At least 13 high schools and seven primary schools will take part in the event.
