The Central University of Technology, Free State, will conduct a community outreach oral health service in Smithfield.

The institution will undertake this educational programme via two departments, Clinical Sciences and Life Sciences.

This programme, targeting about 300 children, will be held on 11 September at the Smithfield Primary School.

“The project, called Warriors Against Germs, aims at teaching the learners good hygiene practices and instilling life-long skills to improve their personal health through hand washing and optimal oral health demonstrations,” said Dan Maritz, CUT spokesperson.

“Focus will also be on the application of these skills.”
