‘Let process run its course . . .’

2016-02-10 06:00

THE last two editions of Express Northern Cape reported that eight nominees had been elected to stand in the elections of the board of directors of the local radio station Radio Teemaneng (RTS FM).

It remains debatable whether the meeting held on Saturday, 23 January, is recognised by the radio station, as the delegates at the meeting and the current board of directors sing different tunes.

A response to a media enquiry to Moulana Rashad Mobara, chairperson, on the authenticity of the meeting and the nominees, and allegations regarding threats to workers who had attended this meeting, has been received.

“RTS is sick and in need of treatment to heal. As with every sickness, the greatest obstacle is denial of the reality that one is sick and in need of treatment,” the response reads.

“As the leadership of RTS we have courage to move beyond the denial phase. We have therefore chosen the path to healing . . . stet elips, ek het uitgesny Our response to all the queries are therefore: ‘Let the process run its course so that the healing process can begin’. We will inform the entire RTS community in due course on how this will happen. The culmination of the process will be the envisaged Elective AGM. Details therefore will be re-advertised at a time and in a manner that will satisfy the expectations of all.

“Brooding on this will not benefit us . . stet elips, ek het uitgesny. it has potential to exacerbate the sickness and hamper the healing process. As responsible leaders we are prepared to make decisions that are deemed unpopular to some, but that are in the best interest of RTS. Thank you.”
