Local tenor to perform

Talented tenor Ma­dukupanyane Senaoana will be the centre of attention at the Free State Symphony Orchestra (FSSO) concert on Saturday (29/10).

He will be enthral-ling audiences by performing live as a soloist in four tenor arias from operas by Mozart and Rossini: “Un Aura amarosa” from Cosi fan Tutte (Mozart), “Cujus A- nimam” from Rossini’s Stabat Mater, “Ich baue ganz auf deine Stärke” from Entführing aus dem Serail (Mozart) and “Cessa di piu resistere” from Barber of Seville (Rossini).

The show will be in the Kovsie Church at 19:30.

Makudupanyane’s ability saw him recently win the 2016 National Amazwi Omzansi Singing Competition.

Also billed to perform at the event is the FSSO, conducted by Alexander Fokkens.

The FSSO will perform Saint-Saëns’ dramatic “Symphony No. 3” and organist Jan Beukes, who is also known as the Organ Symphony because of his versatility to playing organ, will also be seen.

The National Arts Council and the National Lottery Commission are co-sponsors of the show.

Tickets are available at Computicket outlets (Checkers, Shoprite shops) or book online at www.computicket.co.za.

Tickets cost R150 (adults), R50 (students with valid student card) and R90 (children 6 to 18 years).

For a group of ten persons, the cost is R90 per person.
