THE newly promoted Mainstay United FC demolished Kakamas Cosmos in the exciting ABC Motsepe League match that was played during the hot afternoon on Saturday (30/01) at the Keimoes Stadium.

United, who occupied second position before this match, now leap-frogged Springbok side Olympics, who were on top of the log.

Olympics, who had to travel 294 km to Kakamas for a league match against Juventus on the other hand, saw their game being abandoned because there was no officials.

In the triple header that was played at the AR Abass Stadium in Kimberley on Saturday, the second match saw Juventus teaching the William Pescod team a soccer lesson.

The Roodepan based Juventus team was playing entertaining football and made Pescod run the better part of the match, looking for the ball.

The fancy footwork from Juventus players made things worse, as the Pescod players were chasing shadows of the opposition.

The log stands as follows:

Mainstay United 4-0 Kakamas Cosmos;

Rasta Fa Eagles 2-3 NE Celtics;

Morester Jeug vs Hungry Lion (Lion failed to honour the match);

Kakamas Juventus vs Olympics (match abandoned);

NC Liverpool vs Young Pirates (Pirates arrived 15 minutes late and also did not have enough u.23 players);

Collville United 1-0 Young stars;

William Pescod 1-0 Juventus;

Kuruman Kicks vs Steach United (Steach failed to honour the match).
