Man gets 10 years behind bars

THE South African Police Service (SAPS) inGaleshewe has welcomed the ten-year prison sentence for murder handed down to Bulelani Swelindawa (29) of Galeshewe.

Swelindawa heard his fate on Friday (19/02) when he appeared before the Kimberley High Court.

He was found guilty of murdering Siyamcela stet Simawu.

The case leads back to 23 August 2015, when the accused was on a drinking spree with the deceased at Marikana Shacks before they had an argument.

According to Sgt stet sonder punt Majang Skalkie, Swelindawa stabbed the victim seven times. Simawu died on the scene.

Swelindawa was arrested on 24 August and he was remanded in custody until sentencing.

Brig. Nomana Adonis, Galeshewe station commander, applauded Det.Const. Paballo Motshepe for the good work done, as well as for the manner in which he handled the investigation.
