Men encouraged to participate in march

2018-11-21 06:01

The Blaahs Society, a non-profit social club for men in Mangaung, calls on men’s organisations and sport clubs in Mangaung to participate in the Men’s March on Sunday (25/11).

Lesala Masoetsa, convener, said this march was prompted by rife criminal activities harming the society. Under-pinning the march is the theme, “Anti-substance abuse and anti-gangsterism”.

“We also call on men to protect women and children, especially girls, as they are vulnerable in our communities.

“No political party regalia, pamphlets or material will be allowed as this is a non-political peaceful march intended to highlight the plight of women and children,” said Masoetsa.

He said they are targeting at least 500 men to take part. The march also supports the international campaign of 16 Days of Activism of No Violence Against Women and Children.

The march will start at 11:30 at the BP Leinaeng Public Library in Phahameng and will end with the handing over of a memorandum at the Kagisanong police station.
