Much to see at Macufe

2018-10-10 06:01

The annual Mangaung Cultural Festival (Macufe) – the 20th edition of its staging in the Free State capital – is expected to end on a high note this weekend.

High expectations from performing acts are at peak after gospel artists raised the bar at the gospel concert at the Old Grey’s Event Centre on Sunday (07/10).

It is reported that tickets for the gospel show were sold out.

The drawcard for the gospel concert included local artists such as Thoko Nogabe, Keorapetse and Tshepi Mpotle.

They shared in delivering a quality show with internationally acclaimed pastor Benjamin Dube.

The Tshepe vs New Wave, an event showcasing the evolution of the hip-hop music genre was also reportedly a sold-out affair.

This concert on Friday (05/10) officially opened this year’s Macufe edition.

Audiences are still spoiled for choice with four shows: comedy is taking place today (10/10), indoor jazz on Thursday (11/10), a divas concert on Friday (12/10) and an outdoor jazz festival on Saturday (13/10).

Except the outdoor jazz festival, all shows take place at the Dome at the Old Grey’s Event Centre.

This ten-day event fever has enveloped the streets of Bloemfontein.

A football match between Bloemfontein Celtic and Kaizer Chiefs, taking place on Sunday (14/10), will bring down the curtain on the jam-packed event.
