NC scoops up ­Kudu awards

The Northern Cape scooped up several awards at the South African National Parks (Sanparks) annual Kudu Awards Ceremony held at the CSIR Convention Centre in Pretoria on Thursday, 23 November.

The awards, supported by Total South Africa and First National Bank (FNB), recognises deserving conservationists, as well as external and internal stakeholders, for their contributions and for going above and beyond in the performance of their duties and their efforts in making Sanparks the custodian of choice for the national parks system of South Africa.

The Northern Cape winners are:

  • Katrina Strauss (Augrabies Falls National Park) and Ike Molosi (Mokala National Park) both received best performance in the workplace awards.
  • The Grootkolk Wildernis Camp in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park received an award for best performing camp of the year.
  • Reginald Christiaan of the Namaqua Region received an award for best youth in conservation.
  • The Sanparks honorary rangers of the Diamantveld Region received an award for best region of the year.
