THE Francis Baard South African Local Football Association (Salfa) held its elective conference at the Savoy Hotel on Saturday (23/07) where ten members were elected.
The elections saw representatives from at least three Local Football Association (LFA) regions Z Dikgatlong, Magareng and Phokwane Z being represented in the regional executive.
The Sol Plaatje LFA did not participate in the elections.
This region did not send their recommendations due to various reasons that they are planning to reveal to Express Northern Cape in the next edition.
Martin White, who was re-elected as the president of the region for the second time, pledged to continue to advance to the Vision 2022.
This vision is to accelerate the capacity and to build referees and coaches in the region. According to White, it does not just happen that one is re-elected as a president. He believes it is through merit.
“They saw my potential and know that I am a hard worker. From here on I will be working to increase the export of deve-loped players to the national South African Football Association level,” he said.
“Football is all about volunteering and putting the football objective in front,” he continued.
Thanking those who had sent their recommendations for the elections, and re-electing him as the president of the region once again, White said: “You put your faith in us, so we will utilise the opportunity given to us and we will drive the agenda to the best of our ability.”
The conference further saw the handover of photocopy and printing machines to all four LFA offices.
