NINE secondary school football teams will begin their quest to win this year’s Copa Coca-Cola National Championship on Friday (23/09), at the Tempe Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The nine participating schools represent the nine provinces.

The schools are HTS Louis Botha (Free State), who will be playing host, Haggai Combine (Limpopo), J.G. Zuma (KwaZulu-Natal), St Marks (Mpumalanga), Arefadimeng (North West), Rorisang Sedibane (Gauteng), Orion (Northern Cape), Desmond Impilo Tutu (Eastern Cape) and Zamokuhle (Western Cape).

The event will end on Sunday (25/09), with the crowning of the champion and runners-up and the awarding of best players.

The schools qualified for the national championship on the basis of winning in their respective provinces. The winner of this national u.15 boys’ schools football tournament will receive a prize of R80 000.

The event will see the all-star team made up of 11 different players chosen at the provincial finals on Bloemfontein Celtic’s academy side as a curtain raiser.
