THE Windsorton police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a truck and an Audi A4 collided on the N12, close to the Windsorton T-junction.

The accident occurred on Wednesday (15/06) at about 18:40. Three people are reported to have been seriously injured.

According to Lt. Sergio Kock, three men who were travelling in the Audi were seriously injured and one died on the scene, while the truck driver sustained no injuries.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

According to an eyewitness who had been driving from Warrenton in the direction of Kimberley, the Audi passed him at high speed, heading in the same direction.

“It was shocking to see the wreck of the same car next to the road a few minutes later. It looked to me like three people, of whom two were laying in the road, had been killed in the accident,” said the witness.

“It was such a relief to us when a car stopped and the driver assisted those who had been injured, because most of us were too scared to touch them.

“The man said he was a doctor and checked their pulses. At that time, the ambulances were not on the scene yet.”
