Pasteur cares for eyes

2019-06-26 06:00

Pasteur Eye Hospital opened its doors as the Bloemfontein Eye Centre in 1999. At that time, the hospital was part of the Presmed group, later Afrox Healthcare and even later part of Life Healthcare.

At the end of 2011, the hospital became independent and changed its name to the Horizon Eye Care Centre.

It makes sense to treat patients with eye pathology in a hospital which specialises in ophthalmology. There is a dedicated focus on each patient and the specialised staff know how to treat each patient’s specific eye problem.

The theatres are custom designed for eye procedures, and equipped with the most modern, specialised eye instrumentation and latest technology. With eight dedicated, highly qualified eye specialists (ophthalmologists) who look after patients, it is a winning recipe.

On our 20th anniversary it was decided to change the name to Pasteur Eye Hospital – after all, we are in the Pasteur Hospital building in Pasteur Drive and Pasteur Hospital is well known in the region.
