Please remove the waste

2017-08-16 06:02

Leonie Labuschagne, Bloemfontein:

I am requesting the Mangaung Metro Municipality to remove the waste at the corner of Lister and Leeuwenhoek Street in Hospital Park in Bloemfontein.

This can be seen from across the street from the Sand du Plessis Primary School.

Please do not delay the waste removal to do other jobs.

The workers built a new water connection in June, but it was left open until 28 July after working on a water leak two blocks away.

Working like this poses a threat of injuries to primary school learners who are using the side-walk to and from the school.

It is the municipality’s duty to keep the city tidy and safe with good service delivery, but is not happening at this stage.

Please, can the municipal employees comply with their work policies.

I do not think Nelson Mandela would have been happy with this service and untidy city. This was not part of his legacy.

Uncollected waste is found in suburbs across the city.

We fear our children will be injured by falling into the holes as our calls and emails to the Mangaung Metro Muni-cipality are ignored.
