Police investigate suspected drowning

The Northern Cape police have launched a search in the stream near Bothitong, Kuruman, following the suspected drowning of Jappie Kesholohe­tse (69).

Kesholohetse is suspected to have drowned after his walking stick, jersey, hat and a shoe were found scattered along a 5 km-stretch of the stream at Bothitong.

He was last seen on the evening of Sunday, 22 October.

Due to the discovery of his belongings along the stream, the police suspect that he might have drowned while attempting to cross.

“We appeal to community members with information that could assist us in the search to contact Lt.Col Loeto Mothibi on 082-211-8890 or to dial 10111,” the call is made in a police statement.
