Police need help with case

The Kimberley SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes Unit is investiga­ting the murder of an unknown man who was found in West End on Saturday (07/04).

According to Capt. Sergio Kock, police spokesperson, the man’s body was discovered by a passerby in a veld near Waterloo Street in West End at approximately 07:00.

The police said in a statement that the deceased’s throat was cut, and that it appears that he was robbed.

“The deceased was dark in complexion, was approximately 1,6 m tall and had short hair,” Kock said.

“He was dressed in brown pants, a white T-shirt and black safety boots.”

The Kimberley SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes Unit is also investigating a hit-and-run incident after a 37-year-old woman was allegedly hit by an unknown vehicle in Pniel Road, Kimberley.

According to the police, the victim, Judith Khonza, was trying to cross the road on Saturday (07/04) at approximately 01:00. She died on the scene.

Khonza lived in Pniel Road.

The police request that anyone with information regarding the two incidents should call Det.WO Kenneth Lamoen on 082-302-0407, or send an anonymous SMS to 32211.
