Several learners of three Galeshewe schools benefitted from a donation of school shoes and food parcels given to them by the Kimberley Flying Squad on 26 March.

Learners in disadvantaged families who attend the Masiza Primary School, the Tetlanyo High School and the Boitumelo Special School received donations.

The police unit promised to assist them in future. It was also promised that the situation of these families would be monitored on a monthly basis.

According to the unit commander, Capt. Monwabisi Qunta, the programme was done jointly with the three schools’ management and the learners had been identified by the teachers.

Sgt Majang Skalkie, spokesperson, confirmed that the programme would be ongoing and monitored by the unit.
