BLOEMFONTEIN. – The Democratic Alliance Student Organisation (Daso) at the University of the Free State (UV) has slammed Student Representative Council (SRC) president, Lindokuhle Ntuli, for posting what they described as hate speech on his Facebook page.

Spokesperson Tjaart van der Walt said Ntuli’s post incited violence on social media.

“Send all racists to the cemetery,” Ntuli said on Facebook.

“They have no place in society. The likes of Penny Sparrow and Gareth Cliff must literally fall, all of them. This is a free and democratic society. We are in the business of building a nation.”

Van der Walt said that while the organisation condemned racism in the strongest possible way, it could not be fought with more hate speech or violence. Student leaders have an enormous influence and power over the general political mood and public opinion on campus, he said.

Ntuli remains unapologetic.

“I continue to condemn racism and those who exercise it. Daso and the DA must first discipline themselves within. Seemingly the shoe fits,” he said. – News24
