Several local business owners are eager to join the project All the Way from Bloem to help musicians learn more about the industry.

This is not a competition, but an initiative aimed at songwriters and singers from Bloemfontein to help them learn and grow more as musicians.

A panel of judges will listen to all entries and decide which songs will be recorded on the CD All the Way from Bloem.

In July during the Vrystaat Arts Festival, singers will perform these chosen songs at the show All the Way from Bloem.

According to Marie-Louise Smith and Diederik van Niekerk of Luv4Marketing, they are proud to be associated with and to add value toAll the way from Bloem.

“Many artists and musicians struggle to market themselves. To most of them, marketing on social and digital media platforms is just a vague concept,” says Smith.

“Luv4Marketing approached the organisers of the All the way from Bloem project to see how we can get involved to add value and help young musicians to understand the digital and social marketing space and leverage this space to help grow their brand and business.”

Luv4Marketing wants to connect with the artists that are chosen to be featured and recorded on the All the way from Bloem CD.

A workshop, focusing on digital and social media marketing for musicians, will be hosted on Tuesday, 17 April, at the Luv4Marketing offices in Heuwelsig.

The BloemFunTown Music Blog and Platform creates an opportunity for Bloemfontein musicians, as well as national artists, to engage with their fans on a whole new level. This interactive platform offers a way for artists to promote themselves and their products.

BloemFunTown will help the chosen artists with their promotional videos and will share these through their platforms.

Sharlien Nel of Posh Lab will help the artists in the All the Way from Bloem Show at the Vrystaat Arts Festival to choose their wardrobe and will help with their hair and makeup.

Entries for the All the Way from Bloem project close on 28 February.

Get more information, as well as an entry form, on the Facebook page All the Way from Bloem.

The recorded song on a CD, the entry form and the R50 entry fee can be handed in at the Express/Volksblad office in Nelson Mandela Ave 79.
