Rape suspect on the run

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Galeshewe appeals to the community of Galeshewe to assist in tracking down a suspect who allegedly raped a 27 year old woman.

The incident allegedly took place on Tuesday, 21 February, at about 10:00.

The suspect cornered the victim behind the shopping complex near the St Bonafice School and threatened her with a knife.

“She was walking from work when she was approached by the suspect, who allegedly grabbed her from behind. He dragged her to a tree and allegedly raped her,” Sgt Majang Skalkie said.

According to the police description, the suspect is between the ages of 35 and 40, dark in complexion and of slender build.

He is approximately 1,7 m tall.
