FOR most people Kovsie Rag is synonymous with the much-anticipated, fun-filled parade that takes place during January in Bloemfontein every year.

Kovsie Rag immediately conjures up images of fun and spectacular floats, accompanied by music, laughter and sunburned students cradling money tins.

However, the annual Rag Parade, and the three weeks of frenzied activity that precedes it, represents only a small segment of the broad range of fundraising and community service activities that Kovsie Rag engages in throughout the year.

In fact, as an active fundraising and community service organisation, driven by the energy and enthusiasm of young people, the scope of its activities is vast and continuous. The main purpose is to engage actively in various fundraising initiatives and projects, with the aim of making a contribution towards alleviating poverty, while at the same time rendering service to various civil and charity organisations.

As an organisation, Kovsie Rag Community Service maintains a series of well-ma-naged projects and events that together constitute the full scope of its fundraising endeavours. But it needs your help. Your contributions as an individual and business enterprise are of paramount importance in helping to achieve its goals. The generosity of the local community has sustained the fundraising endeavours for more than half a century.
