SAPS lauds job well done

The South African Police Service (SAPS) welcomes the double life sentence of rape and murder accused Simon Zuba (38) by the ­Northern Cape High Court.

The sentence was handed down on Friday (26/05).

Zuba murdered his girlfriend Margaret Olyn (25) on 3 November 2014 when he beat, raped and stabbed her with a sharp object and then strangled her to death.

He was arrested by the police on the same day.

According to Capt. Sergio Kock, police spokesperson, the deceased also had numerous bite marks to her face, torso, arm and back.

The acting provincial commissioner for the Northern Cape, Maj.Gen. Koliswa Otola, lauded Det.WO Desmond Markgraaff of the Serious and Violent Crimes Unit of the Kimberley SAPS for a job well done.
