No arrests have yet been made regarding the recent burglary at the Emmanuel High School in the Homevale Extension, Kimberley.

The police in Galeshewe are investigating a case of house-breaking and theft, as well as malicious damage to property, subsequent to the crime which took place at this local school.

The burglary apparently took place during the early hours of Sunday, 5 November, hardly 24 hours after the staff locked away the proceeds from the fundraising event that was held on the school’s premises.

The burglers are suspected to have entered the staff room through the kitchen window and cut a hole in the ceiling to make their way to disable the CCTV camera.

They hacked the school’s strong room to get access to the money in the safes.

According to the police, they cannot divulge the modus operandi of the case at this stage as the suspects are still at large.

“We are following every possible lead to bring the perpetrators to book,” said Capt. Olebogeng Tawana in a statement.

Any persons with information that could assist to solve this case is requested to contact the investigating officer, WO Brad Martin, on 060-404-8201 or 053-807-5500.
