Sassa under scrutiny

2017-03-29 06:02

Security measures, including the deployment of police, are in place for payment of social grants from 1 April. The minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini, has assured the public that beneficiaries will be paid by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa).

Special focus and provision will be made for the busiest merchants and ATMs around the country. Since 1 April is a Saturday, Sassa pay points will not be open, as on all occasions when the grant payment date falls over a weekend.

The Sassa call centre will be opened to assist beneficiaries with all enquiries.

The contact number is 080-060-1011.
