When Petrus de Bruin made his way to the stage to receive the prestigious Karl Landsteiner Gold Medal of the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), he received a standing ovasion.
He was honoured with the medal for being a blood donor for 300 times already. De Bruin played his part of giving life through blood donation to those in need.
The event, held by the SANBS on 13 April at the Horseshoe Motel in Kimberley, was to honour the many blood donors for saving lives.
