School hosts open days

2018-05-16 06:00

The Castle Bridge Combined School’s 2018 academic open days will be held on 2 June and 19 October at the school.

The open days are to provide prospective learners and their parents with academic information, as well as open classes, and to enable them to apply for the 2019 academic year.

Open days also provide an opportunity for a meet-and-greet with teachers and the principal, for parents and prospective learners to view the school and for them to ask teachers questions to get insight about the school’s operation. Coaches for the different sporting codes are also present to provide information.

Those interested in enrolling at the school must apply as soon as possible, as there are limited spaces in grades that are not the entrance grades Gr. R, Gr. 1 and Gr. 8.

Parents must bring the following to register children: Certified copies of birth certificates and study permits (if applicable); a copy of the clinic card; a certified copy of the ID if the learner is 16 years and older; a certified copy of the latest school report; a character reference from the principal, pastor or minister in respect of the applicant; a certified copy of the ID of both parents (or guardians); a proof of residence and a proof of employment; as well as a copy of the medical aid card.

The application fee is R150. Applications can be done during the open days.

The programme for both open days is: Welcoming speech by the principal at 09:00, and exhibitions and open classes from 09:30 until 13:00.

The ticket price covers dinner and a book, What do You See, written by Itumeleng Sekhu, who will be the guest speaker.
