School moulds the leaders of tomorrow

2020-02-05 06:00

A big well done to the Castle Bridge School’s matric class of 2019 for achieving a 100% pass rate.

The quality of the passes is a cause for celebration, as 69% of the learners attained a bachelor’s pass and are well on their way to universities and other institutions of higher learning.

The Castle Bridge School, also known as CBS, attributes its success to the sheer hard work of all learners, the commitment of the teaching body, the undying support of parents, the continuous assurances of the management team, the unwavering guidance of the Free State Department of Education and, for all intents and purposes, the collective determination of all stakeholders alike.

CBS is an independent combined school, catering for learners from Gr. R to Gr. 12.

Nestled in the heart of Bloemfontein, CBS stands as an attractive option for moulding the determined leaders of tomorrow. Aptly so, the school’s motto is: “Today’s learners, tomorrow’s leaders”.

As such, the ethos of CBS focuses not only on the quality of the academic learning, but also on each learner’s quality of character – regardless of race or creed.

Historically, it has been a rocky road for CBS, but the school has overcome its obstacles thanks to all the major transformations undertaken to create an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning.

Once the groundwork was in place, all that stood to be done was to pull together in the same direction.

Learners had to give it their best shot. Educators had to go the extra mile. Parents had to show up, and everyone, from the top down, needed mentorship from the best retired principals in the province.

It was all hands on deck from the get-go. The result? A 100% pass rate.

The matrics of 2019 are today’s trailblazers who have paved the way and set the standard for those to follow.

This year’s matrics have their work cut out for them.

Just knowing that a 100% pass rate is attainable, is the boost they need to start the year.

CBS follows the Caps curriculum and offers a variety of sports and extracurricular activities for a healthy balance of body and mind.

The school promises even more new activities and the introduction of additional sporting programmes this year. Learners can look forward to participating in spelling bees, as well as maths and science competitions.

Castle Bridge School is located at the corner of James Dick Street and Kolbe Avenue in Willows, Bloemfontein.
